This is pretty fun sounding, particularly in the first half or so. You've put a lot of work into your percussion and there's some interesting ideas there. I'd love to hear what you could do if you based your song writing a little more around that. You could look into working more on structure since its a little meandering. Your leads also a little buried behind those drums in the mix. But overall it's quite energetic and lively with plenty of ideas going on.

Vihg responds:

Thanks a lot for the feedback!! :)

This is extraordinarily well put together. Every bit of space is used with clearly excellent consideration. I absolutely love how that thick bass just barely cuts in here and there along the beat. Lovely warm reverb that's not muddy. The percussion and keys fill out the mids to top end with a nice shimmer. There's some serious skill here in this track.

CutlassBoardgames responds:

Thanks for the such kind words!
I've only just started to properly get back into production after about 8 years away, and it really is like riding a bicycle. I'm missing a few of my old tools, but I've found some new ones that I like. I'm hoping to fill out the EP with a bunch of tracks in much similar style to this one.

This song goes a lot of cool places. Your guitar playing is fantastic

Banana-head responds:

Thanks a lot! At first i didnt like this song at all but its growing on me.

Damn nice man. This is a very tight sounding mix.

edexy responds:

Thanks a lot, I'm glad! :D

Dude this song is so happy. So energetic and bright, the restraint on the percussion gives some interesting space to the mix. You can really hear every little thing going on, like walking outside and hearing all the ambiance around you. Nice work, I'd love to hear more stuff like this.

LordAndiso responds:

Thank you soo much ! <3

This is a pretty cool beat. I'm liking the weird reversy messed up synths. Would be nice to have some gentle melody playing over it, something percussive with a bit of reverb. That's what I hear in my head anyway. Great job anyway, could definitely lie in bed staring at the ceiling with this.

SUZISUZI responds:

thank you! might make a version 2 so ill keep those things in mind it felt a bit repetitive to me too

This is like a cheery, funkier kind of Vaporwave. Like if you took T-Square and put a thick ass dance beat to them. Love it dude

Skelongrothxargikun responds:

Thanks!

This is cool man, liking the instruments and melodies at. Nice fat beat too. But holy god is it loud lol. Still looking forward to hearing the full song though!

Vortonox responds:

thanks

You've got a good handle structure and motifs, you've got a cool 80s vibe as well. Try working on your EQ, if you take out some of those low mids on the bass and lower the level on your main synth then (hopefully if I actually know a thing or two) it should give a little more clarity to your drums. I know the feeling of coming back to old work with new tricks and it is indeed pretty satisfying. Good luck!

Flufflet responds:

Thanks, I'll try that out later on. I personally agree I need to work on my EQ.

The instrumentation is nicely put together. Overall very chill and relaxing to listen to. I feel the piano is a little too sharp. Some slight top end EQ rolled off might help, maybe some reverb too. The intro length is fine, it's just the rest of the song that's a little short in proportion. Well done my man, you're nailing the quarantine vibe for sure!

RealBlargMaster responds:

Don't usually get reviews that in-depth. It's short because everyone in the studio just went home after a few days and I had to work with what I had...
